estambay bistro - Valencia

Preview: A New Native-Style Bistro in Valencia, Negros Oriental

The "estambay bistro" had their soft opening on August 28, 2019, and people around the town got a little bit curious about it. It seems that the owner had intentionally minimized the publicity of this new business establishment. "estambay bistro" is a small food spot that offers a variety of great choices of food ranging from native to foreign ones. They sell Filipino-style dishes such as vegetable soups, "silog" meals, "sisig", Bicol express, and etc. They also sell foreign inspired food like burgers, french fries, and "ramyun".  Good thing about these foods is that they can be bought at very low prices. This was one of the owner's way of getting the patronage of the students near the bistro. To intensify the idea of how affordable the prices are, the owner has made the bistro to have a resemblance of a "karenderia".

Low-price brewed coffee is also offered in this humble bistro. It is indeed very low that it is (3) three times lower compared to other cafes in the city. Another great feature of this bistro is having the countryside feel because of the native and indigenous materials that are being used to construct the whole surrounding of the bistro creating old conventional views. Some people might say that the place could remind them of the old poor humble life in the past while adding some modern attributes to make it more usable for business purposes.

The bistro is located near two public schools and that is well thought about the management so that they can accommodate even the young students. There are some available attractions in this so-called "inato" bistro such as hammocks, outdoor beds, and a treehouse.

How to get here?

This new food destination is located in Vineles Drive, Bong-ao, Valencia, Negros Oriental just across the Valencia National High School. If your starting point is in Dumaguete City, you have to find the jeepney terminal going to Valencia. Then from there, you'll travel for about 20-30 minutes and eventually you will arrive at the town market. From there, you may ride a "pedicab" and instruct the driver to head to Valencia National High School.
